No Match Found Error When Installing PowerShell Modules

The Issue

PowerShell - Install-PackageProvider: No match found error when installing PowerShell modules | FIX !

In a new deployment of Windows Server 2016 or 2019 when using the Install-Module [xxx] command you might be prevented with the following error message.

Error:

The issue is that by default in PowerShell TLS, TLS1.1 and TLS1.2 are enabled, and when connecting to the provider anything older than TLS1.2 encryption protocol will be rejected. We need to only enable TLS1.2

PS C:\> [Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol
Tls, Tls11, Tls12

The Fix

PS C:\> [Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol = [Net.SecurityProtocolType]::Tls12
